Maybe it DOES look like a tie when it’s tied, but when you flip it over… there is nothing uglier. So, there I go again, thinking I can do better, the idea of purchasing a patterned vest with matching tie was quickly nixed.
Don’t get me wrong- when I realized how difficult it was to find the type of fabric I wanted for the vest, I did reconsider purchasing a vest. But when I saw the tie that comes with it… I don’t know how anyone can call it a tie.
After a few weeks of searching for the “perfect” fabric, I was desperate. I was SO desperate that I resulted to purchasing it on the internet. Not the perfect color or the pattern, but at this point, it will do.
The very first step was already so difficult! The two high-end fabric stores I was counting on in the LA area had closed down and the seven fabric stores in NOVA that I visited did not seem to carry the type of fabrics I was looking for.
Similar to the wedding dress search, I wasn’t too happy with what I was seeing for the tuxedo vest. Most utilize plain fabric that unfortunately make them took cheap. & I was unable to find patterned vest in platinum color.
It all started with browsing the stores for the wedding dress.
Most dresses seem to show too much and most appear to require significant amount of alteration.
So I thought, “I can do better!”
